The Certificate of Achievement in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment)... Making it easier to learn!

As the only specialised, professional organisation providing sub-contracted services to statutory agencies and education to the field of visual impairment, Provision Solutions is uniquely placed to meet the challenges presented to organisations delivering rehabilitative programmes to people with a visual impairment.

The creation of the first BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies - a course specifically designed to address the national shortage of suitably qualified staff to work with people who are visually impaired - is a landmark in the field of professional education for Rehabilitation Specialists - click here for more details.

Through our day-to-day activities we recognise that many charities and voluntary agencies provide an excellent service to their 'members' and wish to build on and improve these services. We are acutely aware that financial pressures do not necessarily allow this to happen within the timescale desired by the management and trustees and understand that many organisations do not have budgets specifically put aside for training to help them increase these services.

As from June 2007, Provision Solutions is proud to offer these organisations an opportunity to carefully select any Unit of the BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies and have this delivered individually. Depending on your organisational needs you can choose from:-

  • Visual Impairment & the use of Low Vision
  • Holistic Assessment of people with a Visual Impairment
  • Adult Rehabilitative Learning & Instructional skills
  • Rehabilitative Strategies of Daily Living for People who are Visually Impaired
  • Communication skills for people with a visual impairment
  • Orientation & Mobility skills for people with a visual impairment

All units require approximately 15 hours per week study time, although this will depend on your experience. In addition, you are required to attend lectures*, produce written assignments and undertake practical observations**.

*For <10 students, lecture attendance will be inline with those delivered on the Diploma

** For <10 students, observational assessment will be inline with that delivered on the Diploma

Although taken from the BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies the units are not academically accredited. However, your learning will be recognised with a Certificate of Achievement which can be produced as evidence of Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) should you wish to undertake the BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies within 24 months of completion.

This certficated course offers high quality content delivered by appropriately qualified and experienced staff. The Unit fees are £690.00 +VAT per student - these include the student handbook and all course materials - there are no additional payments.
