As well as the only specialised, professional organisation providing sub-contracted services to statutory agencies, Provision Solutions offers training and education to those who wish to enter the field of sight loss rehabilitation.
In September 2006 we launched the BTEC Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment). The popular course is accredited by Edexcel and provides a qualification that is aspirational - you can use the 'points' earned to gain credits against other courses - which means you are not tied only to this field of study should you wish to study another subject in the future.
In 2008 there will be an additional course to the above qualification - a level 5 'second year' - to enable students to study other subjects in the field of sight loss rehabilitation.
It is further envisaged that shorter professional development programmes for those already qualified will be available.
Unlike many other courses offered, Provision Solutions recognises the importance of the practical elements of service delivery while supporting the need for academic rigour within the rehabilitation profession. Successful students will not only possess the theoretical knowledge of the subjects they study, they will be able to apply their learning on a practical level.
